Reaction to "Why I Write" by Terry Tempest Williams

I chose to blog about this essay instead of the one by George Erwell because of the uniquness of the one by Williams. This is not the prototypical essay, the same old vanilla paper This is a giant list. This list has flare and passion. From reading this I can infer that Williams is a very passionate person. From the quotes "I write as a bow to wilderness." and "I write with a knife carving each word through the generosity of trees." I can infer that this passion involves nature. I can even take the guess that they are an activist. I can also tell through the second quote that she writes with purpose and authority because if she does love nature, she want to make each word strong and affective to not waste the life of a tree.
The way the essay is written looks like she just had an epiphany and decided to write. This is supported by the quote, "I threw a red silk scarf around my shoulders and then began reciting in my sleep why I write." The type of writing displayed doesn't seem like it took her many days to write. It seems as if she wrote it in one sitting
Through details and figurative language I can determine that Williams is a determined and passionate person
